Rayland Baxter

Its never a typical Thursday night in Fort Wayne, Indiana when you get to drive downtown to watch incredibly talented musicians and a gifted songwriter play at The B-Side, an intimate softly lit brick lined room that sits off to the side of One Lucky Guitar‘s office space. Tonight, I got to see Rayland Baxter, son of Bucky Baxter, and a wonderfully gifted wordsmith. It was an evening lost in music and for me that can never happen enough! If you feel inclined look him up online and have a listen!

Bass #3

Decided I wanted to try out a new buzz bait with a trailer hook on it to see if I get a more consistent hook into the fish’s mouth, so I went out early this afternoon and cast a few lines. I wasn’t expecting much but snagged this guy after about 5 casts. A bit smaller then the last one but another goes down!

Bass #2

Im not in a rush to hook the largest bass in the pond but I went out back last night and snagged this beauty with a yellow buzz bait. It’s bass #2 of the year so far. They were really active and hitting on both worms and buzz baits.

What is Founders Co-working space

People ask me all the time, What is Founders Co-working space? Its not always easy to explain because for many people it means something a little bit different. But, this last year I’ve spent a great deal of time working from and with the people of Founders to help create a community of people who love the city of Fort Wayne and want to see development and growth in the entrepreneurial spirt and small business sector here. The space has officially re-opened and is ready for your visit. For more on Founders, watch this short video. After that, grab your laptop and your work ethic and come build something!

CB 400 four twins

Earlier this week, I was flagged down and approached by a man and his wife in a red Honda Accord while I was riding my motorcycle through downtown Fort Wayne. Come to find out, Kyle, the man who flagged me down, has the same exact year, 1975 Honda CB 400 four Super Sport, as I do. His has been fully restored and has ten thousand more miles then mine, but looks fantastic.

As a result, today I went for a cruise with a group of five guys whom I’d have never met or had the privilege of riding with had Kyle not seen me riding or stopped me to get my information. Sometimes its just nice to have a group of people to ride with. Here is a shot of the twin CB 400 four Super Sports.

Week of Hope

For those of you who know me, I am prone to make plans, leave town on a whim, and return with some crazily entertaining story. I do have a couple crazy stories, but this time I skipped town to do some volunteer work in San Diego, California.

Just a couple weeks ago, a spot opened up for an adult volunteer to go with Holy Cross Lutheran Church to Group Workcamp’s Week of Hope. I somehow haven’t made a trip out to California ever, and thought this would be a great opportunity to check out the west coast.

The premise of these work camps are to do service projects in communities of need. Projects range from building homes to cleaning up trash along the beach. Basically, whatever the need is, all the volunteers buckle down and do whatever they can to assist the project coordinators and those in need. Its a great experience and something I would encourage you to look into for yourself or a youth group you’re involved with. Kids and adults alike learn and grow so much as individuals through out the week and it provides them with an opportunity to get outside their normal comfort zone.

Arlington Park 31

Just a couple days ago, I literally played the best round of golf of my life thus far. I don’t know how or why, but I keep shaping shots on every hole. No matter what I did off the tee, I was able to recover and save par or get a birdie on almost every hole. I even drove two Par 4 greens, and single putted for an eagle and birdie. Needless to say, it was a great time

Umber’s Car Repair

So this past weekend was spent in the Smokey Mountains with a group of good friends. The ole muffler on the VW decided to start sagging a little. So today I stopped at a little repair shop off Parnell Street to get her pipes repaired.

If you are ever in need of a really cheap and quick fix, give the guys a Umbers Car Repair a jingle.
