Coin 2.0

In 2013, I caught wind of a device I thought would make my pockets smaller and my life a little easier. It goes by the name, Coin, and its essentially a physical/digital wallet allowing you to program all your debit, credit, gift cards, and some other membership cards into one single card. Through funding the company’s Kickstarter, I was grandfathered into receiving their newly updated and NFC capable Coin 2.0 product. Coin has the ability to switch between any of my programed cards and allows me to use whichever card I choose when stepping up to the register, all without having to carry any of the actual cards in my pocket or wallet.

A cool feature is Coin’s ability to ping your smart phone equipped with the Coin 2.0 app. If you happen to leave your Coin card at the restaurant, store, airport, dropped it or its somehow fallen out of your pocket, the Coin card will try to ping the app on your phone and if you’re not in range, Coin will shut off and cease to function. I think thats pretty handy and clever!

Long story short, I got mine in the mail today, took some pictures and I’m anxious to start using it. Check out a couple pics I snapped real quick. Now off to the mall I go…

Here is Coin‘s product trailer:
